Benchmarking offshore wind incentives in Northern Europe

A comparison of benefit and costs of offshore wind support mechanisms

For the first time in a coherent cross-country analysis, 3E assessed the benefits to developers and costs for society of offshore wind support systems in 6 countries bordering the North Sea, on behalf of the Belgian Offshore Platform.

Conclusions reveal that net support costs are lower than average in Belgium and in Germany and Denmark even though grid connection costs are borne directly by end consumers in both these countries.

3E supported EPIA with technical analysis and extensive modelling of the impact of large-scale integration of wind and solar electricity on the European power system for the association’s latest report.

EPIA’s Connecting the Sun report investigates the impact of large shares of PV on the European distribution and transmission system and is the first analysis of its kind at European level.

VMM: Continuous monitoring of passive building performance

Full passive building monitoring data, freely available for researchers

3E designed the energy concept of the Flemish Environment Agency's (VMM) new office and crisis center for its water management department.

Commissioned in early 2009, the passive building's energy performance is continuously monitored by 3E for further optimisation.
