3E, together with VUB and ULB, studied the feasibility of small wind installations in Brussels for the Brussels Environment Agency. Wind measurements and financial analyses were carried out at 4 selected sites. Within the current regulatory framework and with today’s available technology, results of the studies demonstrate that small wind installations (up to 10 kW) can be profitable on the higher isolated high-rise buildings in the city. At lower heights, installations can also be profitable but with different types of turbines.
