This webinar will pool expertise together from the EU funded project “Solar Bankability” and the sub-Saharan region.
Solar Bankability aims to contribute to the reduction of the risks associated with investments in solar energy projects and increase trust from investors, financiers and insurance companies by establishing a common practice for professional risk assessment based on technical and commercial due diligence.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 649997.
This webinar will be hosted and moderated by SolarPower Europe – Solar Bankability partner – with the support of the African-EU Renewable Energy Cooperation Programme (RECP), featuring:
- Mauricio Richter, PV Expert R&D, 3E and Solar Bankability partner, will look into how technical assumptions are accounted in the various PV cost elements and identify the gaps of present day models in order to enable the stakeholders to foresee hidden technical risks and their potential impacts. He will also show latest results from the sensitivity analysis to establish a link between technical risks, cost components and the LCOE.
- Matthias v. Armansperg, Managing Director, ACCELIOS Solar and Solar Bankability partner will introduce a methodology to determine the financial impact of technical failures and present a modelling tool to assess the impact of technical failures on the overall financial performance of four representative PV business models.
- Expert representative from the sub-Saharan region (tbc) will touch upon the issues of technical and investment risks and the associated specificities in this fast growing market and will argue about the expectations from the financing community.
