Derbigum – Performance analysis Derbigum products according to sustainability certification

March 20, 2017

Client:  Derbigum (Imperbel)
Period:  2011 – 2012

In the context of the emerging importance of sustainability certifications in the construction sector, 3E supported Derbigum in the analysis of their product range according to BREEAM, HQE, LEED, Cradle2Cradle, EPDs, etc.

This support consisted of setting up workshops aimed at a wide audience within Derbigum (Country Managers, R&D-representatives, etc.) to provide insight into both upcoming sustainability certifications at building and product level and to highlight the performance of Derbigum products within these certification schemes.

Such an analysis makes it possible to optimally answer questions asked by construction partners (architects, sustainability consultants, contractors, etc.), whereby the qualities of a product in a construction project can be validated to a maximum. Certain products score well in certification schemes at building level because they provide renewable energy that contributes towards the operational energy consumption. Other products achieve a sustainability label such as Cradle2Cradle due to their method of manufacture.
