Client:  Rova Braie scrl
Period:  2010 – 2014
Team:  Herpain, 3E

The Rova Braie project consists in a multi residential high-standing building located in Brussels city centre. It has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating at both design and construction stages thanks to high environmental performances, notably high insulation, ground heat pumps, photovoltaic energy production, energy efficient light fitting and equipment, low impact construction materials, cycle facilities and waste sorting facilities.

As a licensed BREEAM assessor, 3E has been in charge of defining and requesting all necessary evidences in order to demonstrate the building’s performance against the BREEAM Bespoke International standard. This required communication and coordination work with various stakeholders (design team, scientific instances, local authorities,…) and the production of exhaustive and detailed technical assessment reports.

3E has been technically guiding the BREEAM process during the entire design and construction project. The BREEAM guidance includes operational translation of certification requirements, advice for decision making, management and follow-up of technical issues related to the standards and administrative communication with BRE.
