On 11 June 2019, the European Commission organized a meeting in Brussels between SolarPower Europe’s Emerging Markets Task Force and several representatives of the Indian State energy administrations. With the aim of removing barriers to investment and engaging with local stakeholders to develop the solar sector, the topics discussed were:

– the role of SolarPower Europe in shaping the energy transition in Europe and beyond,
– technology and regulatory best practices in Europe,
– market opportunities in India.

SolarPower Europe’s role

SolarPower Europe is committed to promoting solar energy worldwide and making solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system.

Because solar is one of the cheapest and most equitably distributed energy resources, SolarPower Europe created a task force dedicated to identifying and developing solar business opportunities in emerging countries.

As a member of SolarPower Europe, 3E strives to bring the energy debate one step ahead thanks to its O&M technology and Task Force digitalisation. Kelly Mermuys, Country manager for 3E India, attended this meeting and contributed to the discussion as a SolarPower Europe member. In addition, she gave a presentation on performance optimisation of solar power plants through smart monitoring.

Kelly Mermuys: “It was a pleasure to meet such a large delegation of different Indian states, and to explore further opportunities for smart monitoring systems, such as SynaptiQ, from which solar plants from all over India could benefit”.
