Uncovering wind potential in Eastern Europe

Preparation of large-scale wind resources assessment in several countries around the Black Sea and carrying out wind measurements, wind mapping for larger areas and provision of bankable reporting and guidance in completing the full micro-siting and turbine selection for large new projects. 3E tasks included:

• Review the work carried out by local contractors in preparing the applications for required permits
• Providing general technical support to local engineers in wind energy
• Provision of guidance in developing solid business plans for large farms in Ukraine (200 MW) and Romania (40 MW), including wind mapping, site screening, guidance with turbine selection, yield assessments based on measurement campaigns on site, financial planning, detailed park design and layout
• Provision of grid connection expertise and guidance on optimal grid integration design
