Brussels, January 2026 – 3E is proud to announce that the 3E Headquarters (Brussels), has officially been accredited in accordance with ISO 17025:2022, the global competence benchmark for a testing laboratory.
This accreditation, granted by BELAC, Belgium’s national accreditation body, relates to our headquarters’ long standing wind energy experience.
“It marks an important milestone in strengthening the scientific rigor, reliability, and international recognition of 3E’s wind measurement and energy yield assessment services,” said Stef Goossens, CEO at 3E.
What ISO 17025 means for wind measurement and energy yield assessment
The ISO 17025 accreditation formally validates 3E’s technical competence in:
- Setting up and executing wind measurement campaigns following IEC 61400-50-1/2
- Energy yield assessments fully aligned with MEASNET site assessment guidelines or Germany’s FGW technical guidelines 6: Determination of wind potential and energy yields.
These processes are essential steps in the development, financing, and long-term performance evaluation of onshore and offshore wind projects.
By performing work under the ISO 17025 accreditation, 3E Headquarters ensures:
- Technically reliable and accurate wind measurements: all data is produced under controlled, traceable, and independently verified procedures supported by elaborate risk management.
- Compliance with internationally recognized methodologies: our practices align with global benchmarks demanded by investors and lenders.
- Trustworthy results for investment-grade decisions: From early stage site appraisal to bankableenergy yield assessments, our accredited laboratory provides results thatunderpin project financing and risk evaluation.
Why this accreditation matters for developers, IPPs, investors, and lenders
Renewable energy stakeholders increasingly require transparent, auditable, and high-quality measurement data to de-risk wind energy projects. 3E Headquarters ISO 17025 accreditation gives our clients access to:
- Higher confidence in wind resource and yield predictions
- Reduced uncertainty in financial models
- Greater credibility in discussions with banks and independent engineers
- Reliable compliance documentation for quality assurance
By operating under this internationally recognized standard, 3E strengthens its role as a trusted partner across the full wind project lifecycle.
3E is also listed as a recognised wind expert (“Windgutachter”) by FGW (Fördergesellschaft Windenergie e.V.), reflecting our alignment with established German technical guidelines for wind resource and energy yield assessment (in short "TR6")
