pv magazine webinar ft. 3E | Beyond the warranty: from reactive to proactive BESS operations
Why reactive O&M is no longer enough for Battery Energy Storage
Traditional O&M strategies focus on responding to issues after they occur. While warranties may cover certain component failures, they rarely compensate for the significant revenue lost during downtime.
In today’s fast-moving energy markets, this reactive model is increasingly risky. Operators need to anticipate issues before they escalate, optimise system performance continuously and reduce unplanned outages to protect long-term profitability.
Webinar insight: advanced BESS monitoring and independent O&M strategies
In this pv magazine webinar, industry experts explore how advanced monitoring, data-driven insights and independent operations strategies are transforming battery storage systems from sources of costly outages into predictable, revenue-generating assets. The session delivers practical lessons and real-world strategies that operators can apply immediately.
Here’s what’s covered in the webinar recording:
- Global BESS market trends and the hidden costs of downtime
- Why reactive maintenance falls short: the financial and operational risks
- BayWa r.e.’s approach to independent BESS operations vs. OEM and integrator models
- 3E's digital twin and SynaptiQ APM for predictive maintenance and improved risk mitigation
- Real-world case study of proactive O&M strategies
- Q&A between the audience and our BESS experts
Digital twin and proactive BESS asset management: a game-changer
One of the key takeaways from the webinar is the growing role of digital twins and predictive analytics in asset management. By simulating system behaviour and detecting anomalies early, operators can schedule maintenance proactively, avoid costly downtime and extend asset lifespan.
